In March 1999, Koch Petroleum Group, a Koch Industries subsidiary, pled guilty to charges that it had negligently dumped hundreds of thousands of gallons of aviation fuel into wetlands near the Mississippi River from its refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota, and that it had also illegally dumped a million gallons of high-ammonia wastewater onto the ground and into the Mississippi River. Koch Petroleum paid the Dakota County Park System a $6 million fine and $2 million in remediation costs, and was ordered to serve three years of probation.[32]

In 1999, a federal jury found that Koch Industries had stolen oil from government and American Indian lands, had lied about its purchases more than 24,000 times, and was fined $553,504.[33]

In January 2000, a Koch Industries subsidiary, Koch Pipeline, agreed to a $35 million settlement with the U.S. Justice Department and the State of Texas. This settlement, including a $30 million civil fine, was incurred for the firm's three hundred oil spills in Texas and five other states going back to 1990.[34][35][36] The spills resulted in more than 3 million US gallons (11,000 m3) of crude oil leaking into ponds, lakes, streams and coastal waters.[37]

In 2001, the company reached two settlements with the government. In April, the company reached a $20 million settlement in exchange for admitting to covering up environmental violations at its refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas.[38][39] That May, Koch Industries paid $25 million to the federal government to settle a federal lawsuit that found the company had improperly taken more oil than it had paid for from federal and Indian land.[33][40]

Union-Busting Koch-Employee Herman Cain's Cronies' Wisconsin Dirty Tricks

Union-Busting Koch-Employee Herman Cain's Cronies' Wisconsin Dirty Tricks

Bullet Points:

@ --- Koch-Americans-for Koch-Prosperity, AFP. tapped Cain as the public face of its “Prosperity Expansion Project,” and he traveled the country in 2005 and 2006 speaking to activists who were starting state-based AFP chapters from Wisconsin to Virginia. Through his AFP work he met Mark Block, a longtime Wisconsin Republican operative, hired to lead that state’s AFP chapter in 2005 as he rebounded from an earlier campaign scandal that derailed his career.
http://bloggingblue.com/2011/08/03/the-sordid-history-of-americans-for-prosperity-in-wisconsins-elections/

@ --- After illegally conspiring with Brent Pickens, James Wigderson and their group Wisconsin Coalition for Voter Participation to run an illegal voter turnout effort, Mark Block was rewarded for his illegal behavior by being named the Wisconsin Director of the Koch brothers-funded Americans For Prosperity, a pretty good gig for a guy coming off a $15,000 civil judgment for violating election laws. http://bloggingblue.com/2011/08/03/the-sordid-history-of-americans-for-prosperity-in-wisconsins-elections/

Koch-Employee Herman Cain's Campaign Chief-of-Staff is Koch-Employee Max Block.

@ --- Mainstream media outlets have also ignored the checkered past of Cain's campaign manager, Mark Block, who was banned from participation in Wisconsin politics for three years, 2002-2005, because of campaign law violations. http://www.alternet.org/teaparty/152740/as_herman_cain_surges,_corporate_media_ignore_his_koch_connections/?page=entire

@ --- "The Koch-backed group [AFP] had worked behind the scenes to try to encourage a union showdown, Mr. [Tim] Phillips said in an interview on Monday. ... “We thought it was important to do,” Mr. Phillips said, adding that his group is already working with activists and state officials in Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania to urge them to take similar steps to curtail union benefits or give public employees the power to opt out of unions entirely.

@ --- The Koch brothers, were of course, financially involved in the Citizens United case. ... Not only was Koch active in helping push the Citizens United decision (several of the groups filing amicus briefs supporting unlimited corporate spending were funded by Koch), but Koch actively planned for exploiting the decision. When we exposed a memo outlining the 2010 secret Koch political strategy meeting with fellow right-wing donors, we noted that the summit included a presentation from Karl Crow. Crow is a Koch operative who had penned a memo calling for corporations to exploit Citizens United and aggressively use “employees, vendors, and customers” as tools for advancing business interests in the political sphere...

Koch Industries astroturf Front Group for the Organized Crime Koch Industries is the organized-crime offshoot Koch-Americans-for-Koch-Prosperity, usually abbreviated to conceal the Koch crime bosses involvement to just Americans for Prosperity.

Does Herman Cain KNOW that David Koch hired KKK-Tom-Posey as treasurer of the predecessor of Americans for Prosperity (Citizens for a Sound Economy, CSE, morphed into FREEDOMWORKS and AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY in 2004, two years before Koch hired the career-crashed pizzaman)?

Cain floundered in 2004 after Cain helped run Aquilla into the ground, while KKK-Terrorist Tom Posey held the moneybags at CSE, Cain served as a director for ill-fated local energy company Aquila, an association that eventually landed him in court as a defendant in a major class-action lawsuit.

Koch's have been fined $288,000,000.00 so far. At what point do you say ENOUGH! This evil corporation has murdered Americans and still is, while corrupting our govt. I don't need to fix everything -- I can fix ONE THING NOW!

Koch's and Murdoch were engaged in 400,000 corporate serial murders per year, just in America, not counting the overseas divisions. The courts found GUILTY the organized crime tobacco mafia, of which the Koch-Murdoch-Axis were full-partners. The federal courts brought in a GUILTY verdict, of Racketeer-Influenced-Corrupt-Organization and Koch-Murdochs were running the organization apparatus. Murdoch was Director on Board of Philip Morris and Director on Board of Cato Institute. Every Koch lie-factory was part of the organized crime conspiracy.

Kochs were found, and admitted, to bribing French officials. What US officials has this totally RICO organized crime bribed? How about they funded lavish speaker fees to Supreme Court Thomas & Scalia while funding the CITIZENS UNITED in front of them. That's bribery by every definition known to man.

Koch-Murdoch Axis is engaged in organized crime voter suppression violation in multiple states, funding ALEC to drive off ethnic voters from the 2012 election in multiple red states. This is an active on-going crime which will not stop, and which will prevent ever fixing the system.

Anti-Climate Americans For Prosperity Claims To Not Be Politically Active After Launching Attack Ads

The conservative Americans for Prosperity reported to the IRS that the organization does not engage in political activities even though it reported to the Federal Election Commission that it spent $1.3 million on political radio spots and television ads. During the 2010 midterm elections, the organization unleashed these anti-clean energy ads. According to ClimateWire, AFP’s answer matters because it removes the political expenditure information, which the IRS uses to determine if the group can maintain its tax-exempt status and continue to hide its donors’ identities. An AFP spokeswoman said the ads are not political activity under the FEC’s definition because they don’t tell voters to support or oppose certain candidates. But Lloyd Mayer, associate dean of the Notre Dame Law School, said, “Under the federal tax law … they are clearly political campaign activity.”

Koch Brothers Interfere At Keystone XL Public Meeting

http://blog.nwf.org/wildlifepromise/2011/09/koch-brothers-game-the-system-at-keystone-xl-public-meetings/

Yesterday, the State Department kicked off the final round of public meetings on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline in Kansas, the home state of the billionaire industrialist brothers, Charles and David Koch. The Koch brothers are notorious for funding anti-environment, anti-progressive, and anti-Democratic astroturf campaigns. According to a report by Greenpeace, they even outdid ExxonMobile in funding climate denial groups since 2005. The Koch brothers are also President Obama’s bitterest political rivals.
Unsurprisingly, the Koch brothers’ front group Americans for Prosperity was gaming the system at the Keystone XL public meeting in Topeka, Kansas, attempting to prevent community members opposed to the pipeline from expressing their views to the State Department. ...

Document filed with Canada's Energy Board appears to cast doubt on claims by Koch Industries that it has no interest in the controversial pipeline

In recent months Koch Industries Inc., the business conglomerate run by billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, has repeatedly told a U.S. Congressional committee and the news media that the proposed Keystone XL oil sands pipeline has "nothing to do with any of our businesses."
But the company has told Canadian energy regulators a different story.

In 2009, Flint Hills Resources Canada LP, an Alberta-based subsidiary of Koch Industries, applied for—and won—"intervenor status" in the National Energy Board hearings that led to Canada's 2010 approval of its 327-mile portion of the pipeline. The controversial project would carry heavy crude 1,700 miles from Alberta to the Texas Gulf Coast.

In the form it submitted to the Energy Board, Flint Hills wrote that it "is among Canada's largest crude oil purchasers, shippers and exporters. Consequently, Flint Hills has a direct and substantial interest in the application" for the pipeline under consideration.

To be approved as an intervenor, Flint Hills had to have some degree of "business interest" in Keystone XL, Carole Léger-Kubeczek, a National Energy Board spokeswoman, told InsideClimate News. Intervenors are granted the highest level of access in hearings, with the option to ask questions. The Energy Board approved Canada's segment of the pipeline with little opposition, and Flint Hills did not exercise its right to speak. ...

...
Deep Involvement in Oil Sands Trade

The controversy over the Kochs and the pipeline was sparked by an InsideClimate News report from February. That analysis, also published on Reuters.com and later cited by various news organizations, found that Flint Hills is deeply involved in the Canada-Alberta oil sands trade and is well positioned to benefit if more heavy crude is exported to the United States.

The Koch brothers own nearly all of Wichita, Kan.-based Koch Industries, the second-largest private company in the United States. The energy and manufacturing conglomerate earns an estimated $100 billion in annual revenue from its network of subsidiaries—a mix of oil, gas, pipeline, chemical, fertilizer and paper and pulp companies. In addition to its Canadian operation, Koch's Flint Hills subsidiary operates oil refineries in Alaska, Texas and Minnesota as well as a dozen fuel terminals in the Midwest and Texas. ...

What’s that smell? Keystone XL

http://blog.sfgate.com/mbrune/2011/10/12/keystone-xl/

... Keystone XL, after all, is a 1,700-mile pipeline that will do nothing for Americans except seize their land through eminent domain, expose them to catastrophic oil spills and toxic pollution, and make domestic gas more expensive — all so a foreign oil company, TransCanada, can ship its tar-sands oil overseas from our ports. It’s such a bad idea that, in Texas, the Sierra Club and the Tea Party actually allied to oppose it.

... The more Americans learn about Keystone XL and the big-money campaign behind it, the worse the whole thing smells. Whether or not to permit this travesty is still one of the most important decisions facing President Obama. It’s time for him to clear the air, kill this Koch brothers-backed pipeline, and let the State Department get back to issuing passports and visas. http://action.sierraclub.org/site/PageNavigator/20111010_Nov6_TarSandsRallyRSVP.html

Koch Bros. Accused of Stonewalling Congress on Their Keystone XL Pipeline Interest

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/25/idUS336798587820110525

... Representatives for billionaire brothers and oil magnates Charles and David Koch — major donors to GOP elections and influential conservative organizations — are evidently stonewalling the California Democrat about their possible financial interest in seeing the permit approved for TransCanada's proposed $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline. ...

... "This pipeline and the legislation that supports it will enable the oil companies to charge American consumers more for their gasoline, while increasing carbon pollution and endangering precious water supplies," he continued. "We know who will lose. We also need to find out who will benefit." ...

... In February, the Los Angeles Times tallied up what kind of influence Koch might have on the House Energy and Commerce Committee via campaign contributions. Republicans, who gained a resounding majority in the lower chamber after the November midterm elections, started calling the shots at the House committee when the 112th Congress convened in January. L.A. Times reporters found that Koch donations to panel members outpaced even that of mega-energy companies such as Exxon Mobil. Records show that Koch and its employees gave $279,500 to 22 of the energy committee’s 31 Republicans and $32,000 to five Democrats. ...

... Is It All About the Money?
Koch Industries' representatives told Waxman's staff last week that their company has neither invested in Keystone XL nor taken a public stance on the pipeline project. But Waxman said they would not reveal if Koch would use the new pipeline to export oil from Canada, if the company has tar sands leases or if it has plans to produce oil from tar sands. "These are legitimate questions," Waxman pointed out. "Koch is a large political donor and a major backer of the tea party. Members and the public are entitled to know whether the company would be a prime beneficiary of this legislation." ...

... "There appears to be a significant discrepancy between the published reports that Koch Industries would be 'big winners' if the pipeline is approved and the statement of the Koch representatives that the pipeline has 'nothing to do' with Koch's businesses," Waxman and Rush wrote in their May 20 letter....

Corporate Serial Murderers are going unprosecuted because BOTH PARTIES are protecting them in exchange for petty cash bribes.
If you can't push hard to end this, then you deserve corporate slavery and the Corporate Hostile Takeover of America.
"Put the Killer Koch Brothers, heads of the Koch Organized Crime Gang, in handcuffs and make them do the perpwalk, and the 1-percenters will all sit up and notice and fear."
There is a concise one sentence demand of OCCUPY WALL STREET which gets to the heart of the problem and solves it, and it can be accomplished by the democrat Obama without any help from the Repugs. The pressure is on and the Koch-Murdoch-Axis is going down.

Oh dear, Koch Industries, who have been fined over $200,000,000.00 in fines for poisoning Americans in six states never has found their missing cancer-causing benzene. It has been eleven years and it is still missing. Check your lungs, check your organ. See if you can find the missing deadly poison.

They nearly went to prison for this, but hurried up and gave almost $1,000,000 in campaign donations to George W. Bush, who was appointed president by the Supremes that year. Incoming Attorney General Ashcroft made it a high priority to drop 96 of the charges and reduce the last to poor book keepers. They lost it somewhere in their ledgers, they say. Still, paying $20,000,000.00 fine instead of $340,000,000.00 fine that the Kochs were facing, plus life in prison, was considered a good deal for the Kochs and Bush was president by a hair that might have been due to having an extra megabuck to throw around.

GOP Tells Occupy Wall Street: Blame the Democrats, Not the Rich

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/herman-cain-tells-occupy-wall-street-blame-democrats/story?id=14748857

The Occupy Wall Street movement spread worldwide this weekend, with demonstrations in 950 cities and 82 countries, but Republican presidential hopeful (Koch-employee) Herman Cain said today he doesn't understand what they are after and that their anger is misdirected.

"What is their message? That's what's unclear," (Koch-employee) Cain, the new frontrunner in the GOP race according to an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "If their message is let's punish the rich, I don't empathize with that message. They should be protesting the White House."

Just days ago, the protesters marched to the homes of some of the wealthiest "1 percent" as the protesters call them, including Rupert Murdoch and David Koch, whose support has helped fund (Koch-employee) Cain's campaign.

(Koch-employee) Cain has denounced protesters, saying that they should blame themselves -- not corporations or the super-rich -- if they are unemployed. In a New York Times op-ed he wrote that they are hypocrites who would "rather have a handout than work." ...

Cain 'proud' of link with Koch brothers

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1011/66202.html

From POLITICO's Juana Summers, (Koch-employee) Herman Cain talked about his relationship with the Koch brothers in an interview with CNN's John King:

“I know the Koch brothers. The Koch brothers helped to start an organization called Americans For Prosperity and I did some speaking when they were starting that organization. I am very proud of the relationship I have with the Koch Brothers and Americans for Prosperity.”

“I don't have a close relationship, but I know them and I respect them and they know me and they respect me.”

Herman Cain, Trojan horse candidate for the Koch brothers

 http://goo.gl/RxgQQ

The other day I told you about Herman Cain's only disclosed economic adviser, (Koch partner) Rich Lowrie of Cleveland, Ohio, who is not an economist as Cain falsely asserted during the last debate but a wealth manager for a division of Wells Fargo.  Herman Cain's economic adviser is not an economist (Politico):

[A]ccording to his LinkedIn page holds an accountancy degree from Case Western Reserve University. Lowrie also spent three years on the advisory board of the conservative third-party group Americans For Prosperity. [funded by the Koch brothers] ...

...  While Cain is quick to promote his career at the helm of the Godfather’s Pizza chain, his ties to AFP aren’t something the candidate appears eager to highlight.

His campaign did not respond to repeated messages seeking comment between Thursday and Sunday, and Cain does not include his AFP work on his biography on his website.

But Cain continues to work with the group.

While several other candidates will be at an Iowa Republican Party dinner on Nov. 4, Cain is scheduled to be in Washington mingling with activists at AFP’s annual “Defending the American Dream” summit. He is the only confirmed presidential candidate for the event.

AFP spokesman Levi Russell said Cain has spoken at dozens of AFP rallies and events over the years to support a number of the group’s activities. AFP has often covered his travel expenses or paid a “pretty modest honorarium” but he has not been paid since becoming a presidential candidate, he said.

Why Herman Cain Is The Koch Brothers’ Favorite Presidential Candidate

http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/10/07/335968/herman-cain-koch-brothers/

BULLET POINTS:

- Cain held an official position in the Koch-funded group Americans for Prosperity: Dating back to 2005, Cain led Americans for Prosperity’s new “Prosperity Expansion Project.” The position allowed Cain to barnstorm the country, giving speeches, holding town halls, and sharpening his skills for an eventual presidential bid.

- Cain’s campaign manager is the former president of Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity Wisconsin chapter: Prior to becoming Cain’s campaign manager and chief of staff, Mark Block served as the president of Americans for Prosperity’s Wisconsin chapter. At the same time Block was serving in that position, he is credited with “talk[ing] Herman Cain into running for president”. As AFP-Wisconsin president in 2006, Block even tried to convince Cain to run for president in the 2008 election because of the former pizza executive’s rousing speeches at Americans for Prosperity events. Block has a history of electoral dirty tricks and once fined $15,000 for violating Wisconsin election law.

- Cain attended the Koch Brothers’ private biannual meeting in Palm Springs: In January, the Kochs hosted one of their biannual meetings of top corporate and political figures in order to coordinate strategy and raise money for the conservative movement. Cain was among the small group of conservative politicians invited to attend.

- Cain traveled to Wisconsin in support of the Koch-funded union-busting bill: During the apex of the fight in Wisconsin over Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) union-busting bill this spring, Cain traveled to the Badger State to support the conservative power-grab, speaking at a rally in February. The Koch brothers were major players in Wisconsin’s anti-union push.

- Cain headlined a Koch-funded anti-climate rally in New York: As other presidential candidates focused on glad-handing with voters in Iowa and New Hampshire, Cain took time out in June to travel to New York and headline a Koch-backed anti-climate rally. The rally, held by Americans for Prosperity, protested New York’s involvement in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, an important project to fight global warming that has been long-opposed by the Koch Brothers.

- Cain was a featured speaker at the Koch-funded RightOnline conference: Cain has been a featured speaker at RightOnline, the Koch-backed conservative conference, for the past two years.

@ Koch-employee Mark Block is now Koch-employee Herman Cain's campaign manager.

@ Koch-employee Ellen Carmichaele, an official Koch-employee Herman Cain spokesperson, who recently left the campaign, was Koch-Americans for Koch-Prosperity AFP coordinator in Louisiana.

@ Koch-employee Herman Cain campaign’s outside law firm is representing Koch-AFP in a case challenging Wisconsin campaign finance regulations, overthrowing democracy in Wisconsin.

@ At least six other current and former paid employees and consultants for Cain’s campaign have worked for AFP in various capacities.

@ Koch-employee Herman Cain has credited Koch-partner Rich Lowrie, a Cleveland businessman who served on AFP’s board of advisors from 2005 to 2008, with being a key economic adviser and with helping to develop his plan to cut the corporate tax rate to 9 percent, impose a national sales tax of 9 percent and set a flat income tax rate of 9 percent.

"Koch Industries" Pollution Poison

Koch Industries' Plant Pollutes Streams, Poisons Residents

“The Koch brothers are killing me and my family,” Norma Thompson says, surrounded by a collection of medicine and respirators. A long-time resident of Crossett, Arkansas, she and her neighbors suffer from an abnormally high rate of cancer, breathing problems and other health issues—which local leadership have traced to the rampant pollution emitted by Koch Industries' Georgia Pacific plant.
To learn more about the Koch brothers' abysmal environmental track record—and the "toxic cloud" they've created over Crossett—read Robert Greenwald's exposé here. You can contribute to Crossett's campaign against the Georgia Pacific plant here.

Pollution and resource fines

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koch_Industries#Pollution_and_resource_fines

In June 2003, the US Commerce Department fined Koch Industries subsidiary Flint Hill Resources a $200,000 civil penalty. The fine settled charges that the company exported crude petroleum from the US to Canada without proper US government authorization. The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security said from July 1997 to March 1999, Koch Petroleum (later called Flint Hill Resources) committed 40 violations of Export Administration Regulations.[41]

In 2006, Koch Industries’ subsidiary Flint Hill Resources was fined nearly $16,000 by the EPA for 10 separate violations of the Clean Air Act at its Alaska oil refinery facilities, and required to spend another $60,000 on safety equipment needed to help prevent future violations.[42]

In 2007, Koch Nitrogen's plant in Enid, Oklahoma, was listed as the third highest company releasing toxic chemicals in Oklahoma, according to the EPA, ranking behind Perma-Fix Environmental Services in Tulsa and Weyerhaeuser Co. in Valliant.[43] The facility produces about 10% of the US national production of anhydrous ammonia, as well as urea and UAN.[44]

In 2010, Koch Industries was ranked 10th on the list of top US corporate air polluters, the “Toxic 100 Air Polluters,” by the Political Economic Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.[45]

The above list ($6M + $2M + $35M + $20M + $25M) totals $88 million, well below another list of EPA fines which are a matter of public record of 200 Million Dollars of fines.

Tom-Posey, KKK, Koch Brothers, CSE

Tom-Posey, KKK, Koch Brothers, CSE

When you have a a big pile of millions of dollars, I expect you do a background check on who you hire to be treasurer of it. We can be pretty sure David Koch (one of the infamous "Killer Koch Brothers") knew who Tom Posey was when he hired him as treasurer for "Citizens for a Sound Economy" funded at over $5,000,000 per year.

The secretive Koch Brothers don't like people seeing into their criminal activities, and CSE was tight about public revelations about who all contributed and some of the seamier officers they hired.

... "The mid-1980's was a real hotbed of civilian paramilitary activity. In addition to the Mercenary School, there was also Tom Posey from Decatur, Alabama, that formed a group named Civilian Military Assistance (CMA). Under pressure, Posey changed the name to Civilian Materiel Assistance. After 1979, the Sandinistas might have been in control of what passed as a government for Nicaragua, but people were coming from everywhere to fight against them. The Mercenary Association, CMA, and other entities which I shall not identify, worked together to get people on the ground to screw up Daniel Ortega's hold on power in Nicaragua. The National Security Council began to take notice and offer some assistance."

The agent bought the goggles for $7,500, the document states, and they "appeared to be part of the Fort Hood theft."
